Washington and Austin have ideas aplenty.
President Obama wants taxcuts for 98% of the people to be extended. Republicans want all 100% to get taxcut extensions. Republicans say,"Forget the deficit, the rich want their taxcuts too".I think 98% is fair, the richest 2% are not in need.
Rick Perry in Austin wants budget cuts/spending cuts. His problem is he hides his tax increases by using terms like fees and permits. Texas republicans want smaller government but state agencies cry,"We need all our people and the contractors".
America and Texas now have the "biggest government" in the history of both. More people get paychecks from government or government contractors or government benefits than ever before.
U.S.Government has umpteen trillion in debt and Texas owes millions on bond issues voters' approved.
Has smaller government become a mirage?
