Only occasionally do local elected officials have townhall meetings. For a while city council had one every month some where but attendance was thin. City residents should call or email their council representatives and request these meetings start up next year. Nightly meetings would give more people ability to attend. I attend committee, commission, board and townhall meetings as a blog editor. Our government must be open for input.

Who holds the most and worst townhall meetings? Ladies and Gentlemen,Todd Klein!! One Todd Klein townhall meeting featured Helen Liggett(federal public defender and Ted Liggett's wife)begging for a restroom at Waggoner Park. Her filibuster lasted so long I banged my head on the wall behind the mic. It was torture! Go to a Todd Klein Townhall meeting at your own risk!!

IMO, the best "townhall meetings" are in internet forums like this. Why?
Meetings held in real time suffer from poor presentations like the one mentioned above. While internet forums give us an opportunity to put our best voice forward, to think before speaking, and to give the others time to respond too. Plus they are their own published record.
Also, most citizens are unable or unwilling to attend meetings. Many such as myself suffer from chronic shyness. Internet forum? No problem. Come as you are when you can.
