City of Lubbock put water drainoff pipes in on 98th St. fifteen or so years ago. The city staff failed to daily supervise the contractors that installed the water runoff system. Later housing contractors built expensive houses on 98th St. near these water runoff pipes. Just last year the infamous "Lubbock Flood" overloaded these 15 year-old water runoff pipes and the pipes disconnected and flooded the underground thus causing large sections of 98th St. to sink. Just last week city officials bought 2 houses/lots for $280,000(combined) as city prepares to purchase the sunken part of 98th St. to re-do the water runoff system. Mayor Martin told me,Clif Burnett/LCR Editor, that as many as 20 homes/lots valued at 6 to 10 MILLION bucks would have to be purchased this fiscal year as city re-does water drainage system on 98th St..
It's Lubbock's "big government" running amuck!
Paging my fellow republicans,Martin,Beane,Gilbreath,Gibson!!!
