Texas state officials are now toying with the idea of banning handheld cellphones for all drivers like in schoolzones in recent months. This is not priority one legislation but would be step forward in reducing driver distraction on the highways. The biggest problem is lawdogs have many other priorities now and another reason to give tickets and generate revenue is not needed. Drivers have proven that texting and talking on cellphones is so out-of-control that this law will probably be passed. I don't own a cellphone and I would like to see all businesses require cellphones shutoff while consumers are in said business with signs posted. Americans have become cellphone addicts and that addiction must be treated.
